Surface data:
  1. Topography USGS (30’’x30’’)
  2. Vegetation USGS (30’’x30’’)
  3. Soil (UN FAO) soil texture data at (2’x2’)
  4. Monthly NDVI index (30’’x30’’)

    Temp. at 2m: Air Temperature at 2m above ground (C)
    Winds at 10m: Wind field at 10m above ground (m/s)
    Sea surface wind: Near surface wind field (Beaufort)
    Acc.Precip: 3hr Accumulated Precipitation (Rain+Hail+Snow) (mm)
    Acc.Rain: 3hr Accumulated Rainfall (mm)
    Acc.Hail: 3hr Accumulated Hailfall (mm)
    Snowfall: 3hr Accumulated Snowfall (mm)
    Cloud Fraction: Fractional representation of cloudiness (0-1)
  • Forecast maps and forecast tables at selected locations

RAMS High Resolution APPLICATIONS (Recent examples)

  • Hindcast run for 1month (15JUL2003-15AUG2003) at the region of Tagus River (Lisbon Portugal) for the INSEA project.
    Coarse Grid 36x36km - 3 nested grids (12x12km,3x3km,1x1km) - 30 vertical levels
  • RAMS with CAMx Air Quality Model offline coupled (Thisvi Central Greece - 20-22AUG07, 23-27JUN2007, 03-06OCT2006). Coarse Grid 20x20km - 2 nested grids (4x4km, 1x1km) - 37 vertical levels
  • Landuse change effects on urban microclimate experiments. Test runs for the case of the new Metropolitan Park at the area of the former Athens Airport. Coarse Grid 28.8x28.8km - 4 nested grids (7.2x7.2km, 1.8x1.8km, 600x600m, 200x200m) - 37 vertical levels
