Funded Research

The group has been participated in a number of Research Projects funded from various sources such as National and International authorities. Below there is a list of selected projects funded externally during the last 10 years:

  • Study of the Killing Frosts in Argos Valley, Greece. Supported from the Organization of Agricultural Insurance of Greece (OGA) and General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GGET), Greece. 1988-1990.
  • A study of weather conditions during air pollution episodes in Athens. Model simulations, New techniques in graphics and parallel processing. Support from IBM-Hellas, IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and General Secretariat of Research and Technology (GSRT) Greece. 1991-1993.
  • Experimental study of wind and temperature fields around wind machines used for frost protection Supported by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology (GSRT), and ELGA, Greece. 1993-1998.
  • Development of the National Hydrological and Meteorological Data base. Supported by EEC (program STRIDE) and National Organizations. 1992-1993.
  • South European cycles of air pollution (SECAP). Support from the Directorate General XII of EU. 1992-1994.
  • Environmental study for the power plants of Aliveri, Lavrio, Rhodes, Thira, Karpathos, Kalimnos, and Milos. Supported by the Power Production Company (PPC). 1992-1994.

  • Study of the aerosol optical depth in the Mediterranean Region. Supported by the DG XII of EU. 1994-1996.
  • Study of a model for the quality of air concerning non-reactive pollutants in selected European Cities "Auto Oil" project. Supported by the DG-XI of the EU. 1994-1995.
